Crispy Sweet Chilli Beef

Ingredients: The ingredient amounts are for two servings.

  • Sirloin Steak 300g or 10.6oz
  • Garlic Paste 1 tsp
  • Ginger Paste 1 tsp
  • Spring Onion 1
  • Red Chilli 1
  • Basmati Rice 120g or 4.2oz, dry
  • Olive Oil 1 tsp
  • Cornflour 3 tsp
  • Plain Flour 1 tbsp
  • Black Pepper ½ tsp
  • Sweet Chilli Sauce 4 tbsp
  • Honey 2 tbsp
  • Soy Sauce 2 tbsp
  • Rice Vinegar 1 tbsp

Instructions:

Thinly slice the steak as finely as possible (tip – refrigerate for 1 hour before slicing).
Pat dry and add to a bowl. Toss with cornflour, plain flour, and black pepper until
fully coated.


In a separate bowl, mix the sweet chilli sauce, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and
garlic and ginger paste. Set aside.


Cook the rice according to packet instructions.


Heat oil in a pan over medium to high heat. Add the beef in batches and fry until
crispy and golden. Remove and set aside.


Lower the heat slightly and pour the sauce into the pan. Let it bubble for a minute,
then add the crispy beef back in. Toss until fully coated and sticky. Serve over rice
and finish with sliced spring onions and red chilli.
