STEAK WITH GRILLED VEGETABLES

Ingredients:

  • 150g Red Meat (Lean beef, Veal, Lamb Leg, Kangaroo, Goat, Camel)
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil (7g)
  • 100g mixed green vegetables of choice (green beans, asparagus, broccoli, spinach, etc)
  • 100g Carisma Potatoes
  • 1 red pepper, deseeded and cut into strips
  • 50g onion, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat the grill/pan to maximum, a cast-iron ridged pan gives excellent results.
  2. Place the steaks in a shallow dish, and place the prepared vegetables in a bowl.
  3. Mix the oil, salt, black pepper, and balsamic vinegar. Pour half the mixture over the steaks and the remainder over the vegetables, and mix well.
  4. Place the steaks on the grill pan and cook for 2 minutes, then turn to sear the other side.  Leave to cook for two minutes before turning again. Continue to cook, allowing a total of 3-6 minutes on each side, depending on how thick the steak is and how you like it cooked.
  5. Remove to a plate and keep warm while you cook the vegetables. 
  6. Place the vegetables on the hot pan and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  7. Boil the potatoes, cut it in halves.
  8. Serve with the meat and the vegitables.
