Sesame Sourdough French Toast
Ingredients: (Makes 1)
- Egg 1 chicken egg
- Sesame Seeds 1 tsp, black
- Skimmed Milk 2 tbsp
- Sourdough Bread 2 sliced, thick
- Cinnamon 1/4 tsp
- Nutmeg 1/8 tsp
- Brown Sugar 1 tsp
- Olive Oil 1 tsp
- Raspberries handful, fresh
- Yogurt 2 tbsp high protein
Instructions:
To a bowl, crack the egg and add the skimmed milk, sesame seeds, sugar,
cinnamon, and nutmeg. Once added whisk together the ingredients. If you like,
pour the mixture onto a bowl to make soaking the bread easier.
Next, add the olive oil to a pan on low-medium heat. As the pan heats, soak the
bread on both sides before adding them to the pan.
Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side. If there is any remaining egg, you can pour
this over the bread slowly as it cooks.
Once cooked, place the bread on a plate and serve with a handful of raspberries
(fresh or frozen) and a dollop or two of low-fat greek style yogurt.
