KURAKKAN PITTU WITH LUNU MIRIS (ONION SAMBOL)
Ingredients:
(makes 01 serving)
Pittu
- 25g Kurakkan flour
- 25g Rice Flour
- 30g Coconut (Grated)
- Salt
- Enough water to mix
LunuMiris
- 1 medium size finely chopped red onion
- 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh red/green chilli
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice, divided
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp chilli powder or ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp ground turmeric
- ½ tsp cracked black pepper
Method:
- Mix flours. Add salt to taste.
- Add droplets of water to make little grains out of the flour mixture.
- Fill the flour mixture into a pittu mould and steam for 5 min.
- When it is cooked push from the end to get that out onto a plate.
Modification:
- If you like to make more portions, multiply the ingredients into the number of portions.
- If you do not have a pittu mould you can use a colander to steam the pittu.
- Best served with curries such as Fish, Lunu miris.
