DAHI CHICKEN

 

Ingredients:

  • 150g Chicken breast boneless (turkey breast/ lean pork)
  • 100g non-fat plain yogurt 
  • 2 small green chillies
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 50g onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon black cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon butter (7g)
  • 30g coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Soak the chicken chunks in lukewarm water with a small pinch of salt for 15 minutes. Then wash and clean the chicken and cut into roughly equal-sized cubes.
  2. Take a large bowl and add a paste of 2 small green chillies. Then add yogurt and marinate the chicken pieces along with ginger-garlic paste, cardamom powder and salt. Once the chicken pieces are properly coated, keep them aside for 2 hours so that the flavours are well-absorbed by the chicken pieces. 
  3. Then, take a pan and melt butter in it over medium flame. If you want to make it healthy, then you can also use low-fat butter. Once the butter starts to melt, add onions and sauté till they become light pinkish in colour.
  4. Once the onions are transparent, add the marinated chicken pieces and cook for 2 minutes. Put the lid on and let it simmer for 15 minutes. It tastes better when you add some finely chopped coriander leaves and chopped chillies.
