DAHI CHICKEN
Ingredients:
- 150g Chicken breast boneless (turkey breast/ lean pork)
- 100g non-fat plain yogurt
- 2 small green chillies
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger paste
- 50g onion
- 1/2 teaspoon black cardamom
- 1 teaspoon butter (7g)
- 30g coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Soak the chicken chunks in lukewarm water with a small pinch of salt for 15 minutes. Then wash and clean the chicken and cut into roughly equal-sized cubes.
- Take a large bowl and add a paste of 2 small green chillies. Then add yogurt and marinate the chicken pieces along with ginger-garlic paste, cardamom powder and salt. Once the chicken pieces are properly coated, keep them aside for 2 hours so that the flavours are well-absorbed by the chicken pieces.
- Then, take a pan and melt butter in it over medium flame. If you want to make it healthy, then you can also use low-fat butter. Once the butter starts to melt, add onions and sauté till they become light pinkish in colour.
- Once the onions are transparent, add the marinated chicken pieces and cook for 2 minutes. Put the lid on and let it simmer for 15 minutes. It tastes better when you add some finely chopped coriander leaves and chopped chillies.
