CHICKEN CURRY

 

Ingredients:

  • 150g Chicken breast boneless (Turkey breast/ Lean pork)
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil (7g)
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 60g Non-fat plain yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 50g onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 60ml water
  • 5g curry leaves
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Drain and wash the meat under cold running water and keep aside till it is almost dry. Next, heat oil in a pan over moderate flame and then add cumin, coriander seeds, garam masala powder and curry leaves. Sauté for a few seconds and then add chopped onions in the pan, cook till golden in colour.
  2. Now, add the chicken, ginger-garlic paste, salt and curd in the pan. Mix well and cover with a lid. Do not let the steam escape, though you do not need to pressure cook it!
  3. When chicken is half done, add all other spices and cook for a few minutes on medium flame. Keep stirring till the chicken is properly cooked.  
  4. Cook further till the oil starts separating from the mixture. Add water and allow the gravy to simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Remove the pan and serve hot.
