CHICKEN CURRY
Ingredients:
- 150g Chicken breast boneless (Turkey breast/ Lean pork)
- 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil (7g)
- 1 green chilli
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 60g Non-fat plain yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
- 50g onion
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
- 60ml water
- 5g curry leaves
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Drain and wash the meat under cold running water and keep aside till it is almost dry. Next, heat oil in a pan over moderate flame and then add cumin, coriander seeds, garam masala powder and curry leaves. Sauté for a few seconds and then add chopped onions in the pan, cook till golden in colour.
- Now, add the chicken, ginger-garlic paste, salt and curd in the pan. Mix well and cover with a lid. Do not let the steam escape, though you do not need to pressure cook it!
- When chicken is half done, add all other spices and cook for a few minutes on medium flame. Keep stirring till the chicken is properly cooked.
- Cook further till the oil starts separating from the mixture. Add water and allow the gravy to simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the pan and serve hot.
