BEEF FRIED RICE

 

Ingredients:

  • 150g Lean beef
  • 130ml water
  • 65g basmati rice (raw)
  • 1 teaspoon butter (7g)
  • 1 whole egg whisked
  • 75g carrots small dice
  • 75g zucchini, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Method:

Step 1

Place rice in a small saucepan and add water. Simmer, covered, for 10-15 minutes or until cooked then let it cool. Heat butter into a large skillet. Add the eggs and scramble until fully cooked. Remove them from the pan and set aside. Add the steak and cook over high heat for 2-3 minutes, just until seared and caramelized on the outside. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 2

Add carrots and zucchini to the pan and cook until tender, 3-4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional minute. Add in the cold rice and sauté for 3-4 minutes. The rice should brown up a bit. Add the eggs and the steak back to the pan and stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes to heat through.

Serve immediately with sesame seeds for garnish.
