AIR FRIED FISH AND CHIPS

Ingredients:

  • 150g cod fillet cut into strips
  • 30g all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 Large egg, beaten
  • 50g panko bread crumbs
  • 200g Carisma potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil (7g)
  • 1 tablespoon non-fat Tartar sauce for serving
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix the flour with paprika, garlic powder, salt and black pepper. Place the beaten egg in another bowl and the panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  2. Pat the fish dry using a paper towel. Dredge the fish in the flour mixture, then the egg and finally the panko breadcrumbs, pressing down lightly until the crumbs stick. Spray both sides with oil.
  3. Air fry at 400°F, turning halfway through until crispy and lightly golden, about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile clean the potatoes and cut in to batons and let them soak in water for 10 minutes and get rid of the water. Pat dry with a cloth to get rid of excess water. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
  5. Open the fryer and check for desired doneness with a fork to see if it flakes off easily. You can return the fish for another 1 or 2 minutes, if necessary.
  6. Once the fish is done, spray some oil on the potatoes and air-fry the seasoned potatoes for approximately 15 minutes. Give a good shake half way through to get a nice crispy outer layer.
  7. Serve the fish immediately with fries and tartar sauce.
